Reverential Respect, Fear and Wonder

When I think about King David as he struggled with depression, he can give God the honor due to him by focusing not on his emotions and his humanness, but on the fact that God is indeed a majestic and awesome God in all his ways. King David, the psalmist, writes in Psalm 8:3-4 to the Lord admonishing reverential respect, fear and wonder, " When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?" KJV A bipolar christian oftentimes feels misplaced, not accepted, not whole, because of the different misconceptions that have been accepted not only within, but with the church community. Rare do we see christians with mental disabilities at the forefront, leading and guiding others. Instead, what has been produced is confusion, idleness and shame of having a diagnosis that has not been healed. Different beliefs penetrating the mind of the individual with bipolar, families, and the church spreading into different spears due to ignorance and miseducation. But here is King David a man after God's heart with a disability clearly understands his position here on earth and that is to take dominion in spite of his condition.

Psalm 8:5-6 KJV

5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet."

Therefore, as children created in His image we have a responsibility to taking care of ourselves mentally, physically and spiritually so that we can do everything with a deep purpose.
