Finally finished my first picture book "Lovely Princess Anne." Well let me just say that the manuscript was sitting collecting dust for 7 years. Why? Let's just say that you start believing that all those rejection letters in the mail are true. What's the point? As a special education teacher who teaches middle school children I must say that most children just don't enjoy books. They are so busy on their cell phones taking selfies, looking at visuals that are harmful to themselves and others. Many have turned to cyber-bullying as a form of enjoyment. As a teacher I have witnessed so many students get bullied by their peers and even when you try to protect them and teach acceptance in the classroom you find that the power is really in the victims hands. How can we empower our youth to do the right things? This is a question that is continually on my mind. I pray that the Lord will help me to teach my students true acceptance. #followme
